A fist pumping joy of a song which also has a great rumbling instrumental section. However, what follows is still very good indeed and almost all of the eight subsequent songs have something about them that warrants my admiration. They have some pretty cool packages on offer too. Well, a coffin shaped box, to be more precise containing: — Ltd. And one that should well benefit from, and see widespread success on the back of, a genuinely impressive album.
The vocals are sung, Blind Guardian like, in the verse while the drums, bass and guitars play a really fast tune. Come With Me To The Other Side features Metal Siren Liv Kristine, whose voice seems to fit any track that she sings on. Mankind burns in the flames All those people that you knew, despised of cherished They're all dead or insane but we blaze our trail We can't withstand forever - The flame will set us free As long as we're together - We dance in the ashen rain Stand side by side no matter - How long the road may be And when we're burned, forever - We'll dance in the ashen rain Like cinders of the ashen rain Glowing, smoldering, we're floating, in circles hovering We're dancing - The dance without a name Embrace it when you can't change the game I just want us to come home Come home We can't withstand forever - The flame will set us free As long as we're together - We dance in the ashen rain Stand side by side no matter - How long the road may be And when we're burned, forever - We'll dance in the ashen rain He just falls straight into the afterlife They took my hood to make me see him pay for What they call crimes, all made up, filthy lies Sligmatised now and forevermore And forevermore They push me up the steps to the trap door A shadow lurks on the water tower They've got three, but miss that we are four This final hour, all I've got is One last chance - Before they will bring back the night One last chance in the light They'll bring back the night forevermore The rope is thick, but the distance's 40 yards A bullet hurls through shimmering air I hold my breath, praying that it hits the mark As the hangman throws the lever I'm falling, just falling One last chance - Before they will bring back the night One last chance in the light They'll bring back the night forevermore Remembered as comets, not as dead rocks, a fire that scorches the sky How could they know that I'm back from the dead - They are the killing kind I've been led from the start by that man in my head, behind my eyes and my mind I've been put in the ground, six feet below Stabbed, cut, strangled and skinned I've been burned to the bones Scattered in ashes, given to sea and to wind Finis coronat opus - In nomine et ad honorem tenebrae You decide how you meet the end of the course Kings also rule the day that they die Remembered as comets, not as dead rocks, a fire that scorches the sky Is there something that we will leave behind? Come see for yourself that your world burns Down here is nothing like it seems You should run for your life Down here truth is what men believe Wanted: Dead or Alive Righteous and noble, a man of the gun I lost my faith when this town fell Let me find peace in death, for in life I found none If you get in my way I will shoot you as well Down here is nothing like it seems You should run for your life Down here truth is what men believe Wanted: Dead or Alive We can't withstand forever - The flame will set us free As long as we're together - We dance in the ashen rain Stand side by side no matter - How long the road may be And when we're burned, forever - We'll dance in the ashen rain We missed the moment when our life came asunder, baby open your eyes Inside the error, witness of the final blunder, under a black sky And still you sing with the rain so low Will we know when it's time for us to perish? Still, an easy recommendation for any power metal fan looking for some great melodies and some truly spectacular choruses. Some bands will pretend to create bombastic and epic music but Orden Ogan properly succeed. Well, with Gunmen the band has taken this even further, as the majority of the songs here are more mid-paced throughout, mostly alternating between melodic leads, rhythm guitars and those chugging riffs, with truly killer lead riffs being few and far between. It goes without saying that the chorus is another delicious affair here too.
Like I said, not because they are bad. Vampire in Ghost Town has a stupid name but a great intro with a soaring guitar solo that leads into a chugging riff. German power metal warriors, Orden Ogan, have released their 6th studio album, entitled Gunmen. A little prechorus sees the guitars drop out leaving a wicked drum beat and vocals before everything jumps back in for a big chorus. Instead, it becomes a bona-fide symphonic anthem, with a vaguely progressive edge given its many varied components. I have already listened to, and enjoyed two of the singles released. For example, when I first heard Ravenhead, the fifth full-length album from German power metal band Orden Ogan, I thought it felt like a direct continuation of their previous album To the End, and yet found myself a bit surprised to realize I was liking it slightly less.
It exudes quality from every pore and has been a genuine revelation for me. In fact, in many cases, they just get better. All this results in 10 metal hymns for eternity! Being a long song, it moves through phases starting with an acoustic melody, moving into faster and heavier riffing. Why not head on over to the and pick up the album? It has a catchy riff and a great chorus. This could be likened to the start of an epic film where you are immediately enticed from the first few seconds.
Liv Kristine and Ashen Rain. Gunmen is a Western themed album — as in Wild West. The chorus is gargantuan, the riffs are superb and the bombastic symphonic elements are a real joy. Credit where credit is due. Over the past couple of decades, I have built up what I would like to think is a fairly extensive and varied knowledge of vast swathes of the heavy metal world, even occasionally veering into rockier territories where appropriate. Vampire In Ghost Town has the strong melody and memorable chorus that you will be singing in your head for days on end.
It was great how this track started off on a very tranquil note that leads the listener into a false sense of security before being treated to distortion and power that Orden Ogan are very well known for. On previous releases it was too easy to cast Orden Ogan to one side as, perhaps harshly, an inferior Blind Guardian with flecks of Sonata Arctica, but, with Gunmen things feel different like the band have planted their flag and are now their own, highly enjoyable and notable entity. The Face of Silence 7. In fact, my three least liked tracks are all played in a row — track 7, 8 and 9. You were in your own world!! A steady drum rhythm joins in before the guitar starts blazing out a quick riff and the drums pick up the rhythm to a steady canter. I don't know… I don't know why We are built to fail at long sight, no matter how hard we try The man in the mirror says hello - I don't know who you are Showing me the right way to go - So close and yet so far Finis coronat opus - In nomine et ad honorem tenebrae I'll always be there with you - I'll always be watching you If I'm gone - Don't mourn me I'll be always watching over thee.
Highlights of the album included Vampire In Ghost Town, Come With Me To The Other Side feat. Everything from the powerful vocals to the thunderous musical arrangements reinforces this dominance and power that this troupe are very well known. Orden Ogan are a power metal band but one that utilises progressive, symphonic and folk elements to help them stand out from the crowd. A heavy instrumental with loads of bass leads into a blazing guitar solo which leads back into a symphonic section. The output remains firmly in the power metal camp, but within this framework, I get the impression that the quartet wanted to experiment a little bit.
First up, we have the title track, which is actually a perfect opener and a much better title track than Ravenhead. I'll hunt you down I'll be your final nightmare I am the Gunman I bring salvation on this day Here comes the Gunman You know that Vengeance is my name When shadows hide at high noon I kneel down by her tombstone And from the earth she'll rise To pass her sight to you You will beg for forgiveness I'll make you plead and confess Find absolution with a Bullet in your head I'll find you. The Face of Silence is another fantastic song. It is well worth checking out. The chorus sounds great though the lyrics are a bit cheesy. Slower sung vocals in the verse lead into a chorus with cheesy lyrics but it sounds huge and is really catchy.
Above all, Gunmen is infectious and relentlessly enjoyable. With its fantasy title and elements, it is also the song that allows you to escape the stresses of reality if you turn it up loud enough. You can order There is a strictly limited version of the box set as well the limited limited special edition! It is a big operatic opener with a symphonic intro. The album ends with a near 9 minute epic called Finis Coronat Opus which is also a good track. That might seem a little odd. It is quite a statement though — it sounds huge and, cheesy lyrics aside, is a great way to open up a record. I am familiar with the power metal and melodic metal genres, liking much within them.
