But when the fallen agent's true agenda becomes clear, the Bristows find themselves torn between a chance to leave the spy life and saving Sloane's. Abrams abandoned the double-agent angle, then revived it in the fourth year after the arrival of Syd's half-sister and the show's move from a ratings-challenged Sunday slot to a plush post-Lost perch on Wednesdays. Sydney, in almost every episode, is required to disguise herself in order to complete a mission, or get information for the central story. Sydney and Nadia find her in a camp in Tikal, captured by Elena's army. Meanwhile, Vaughn finds out news about his father, when he visits his uncle.
This plot and some technologies used in the series pushed Alias into the genre of science fiction. Sydney tells Nadia about Rambaldi's profecy saying about two sisters fighting but only 1 surviving.
